My Story

What Sets Me Apart

I get it, there are lots of options when it comes to choosing a wedding planner in Hungary. What sets me apart from the others? Well firstly I am not Hungarian, I am Irish and I have loved and lived in Budapest for 20 years. You can be guaranteed I know the city, the language and the Hungarian wedding industry very well!! I specialise in planning weddings for couples from overseas who need a person that they can trust and relate to. I planned my own wedding in Budapest very successfully and I personally know what my couples need, their expectations and that of their guests. They want to create a never seen before event, whether it is an intimate one or a large gathering with guests from every continent. I want couples to feel like they, their guests and their wedding event is completely taken care of.

“People may forget what you said, people may forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel!”  MAYA ANGELOU

My Background

My background is in dance, theatre and show business. It is a big influence in how I plan and coordinate weddings. Throughout the years I had much success in Irish Dance, winning several championships, then my professional career was kick started when I joined Riverdance The Show. Irish Dance eventually brought me to Budapest and I immediately fell in love with the city. Shortly after I met my husband, we decided to combine our talents and founded an Irish Dance Company together. He dealt with the business end of things and I concentrated on the creative, teaching and performance side. Together, we produced many stage productions and toured throughout Hungary, Central Europe and the United Kingdom.

My transition from dance and stage production into event planning was a natural progression but my passion for wedding planning was solidified during the planning of my own wedding in Budapest. Everything went wonderfully, it was a perfect dream wedding. I felt and continue to feel compelled to assist couples in achieving that. I like to bring the glamour of the stage into my events. I love design and creating but the biggest reward is creating unforgettable memories for the couple and their guests.

What I love

  • the solace of walking on the beaches in Ireland

  • vintage and contemporary fashion

  • taking in the views of the Buda Castle and Chain Bridge from a cafe along the Danube

  • antiquing at the vintage stores on Falk Miksa street

  • planning  a weekend getaway with my husband

  • catching a movie (we alternate between action and romantic comedies)

  • musical theater

  • traveling

  • floral design workshops

What Inspires Me

I enjoy reading design magazines for inspiration and new ideas but it is always the city at my doorstep that energizes me and gets my creative juices flowing. I am awed by the scale of the grand buildings here. Everything about Budapest-the architecture, the Danube, the sultry summer heat, the language and the history suggests opulence and exoticism, the essence of what gravitates me towards it.

When I enter a restaurant or step inside the lobby of a hotel I notice and pay attention to specific details from the light fittings and how it is lit, to the comfort of the floor surface and chairs. I notice the china, the appearance of the menu and the ambiance the music creates. When scouting reception and ceremony venues I apply the same attention to detail.

I love to create memorable moments with decadent details, with an aim to blow even the seasoned guest away. Knowing the key to a successful wedding lies in the details that reflect your personality. I will invest the necessary time and energy to ensure your vision is executed flawlessly.

I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have an amazing husband and our beautiful baby girl. My family and friends consistently encourage me to pursue my passion for creating and planning.
